I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Anti-social behaviour - general, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Summer Anti Social Behaviour (ASB)
As we head into the summer months, we know there will be an increase in people enjoying the warmer weather and longer evenings across our communities. While this is a positive time for many, we also recognise that it can lead to a rise in anti-social behaviour (ASB).
Your local policing teams will be carrying out increased patrols in key areas, focusing on locations where ASB has previously been reported. We will be working closely with partners, including the local council and community groups, to prevent issues early and deal proportionately with those responsible.
We are particularly keen to receive information around planned gatherings, including beach parties or large meet-ups. Early intelligence allows us to be proactive—engaging with individuals, putting measures in place, and preventing situations from escalating.
We’d like to remind residents that everyone deserves to feel safe and enjoy their summer without disruption.
Local officers also host a number of community engagement events across Whitstable. These are a great opportunity to speak with your neighbourhood team, raise concerns, and find out what’s happening in your area. Details of upcoming events can be found on My Community Voice.
How to report ASB or share information:
- Call 101 to report non-emergency incidents - Report online via the Kent Police website - Always call 999 in an emergency where there is a risk to life or a crime in progress - Speak directly to your local officers while they are on patrol
Your information is vital in helping us identify problem areas and take action. If something is affecting your quality of life—or if you are aware of planned gatherings that may cause disruption—please report it. No matter how small it may seem, it helps us build a clearer picture and act early.
Together, we can ensure our communities remain safe, respectful, and enjoyable places for everyone this summer.

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police. The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 aims to put victims first, giving power to local people and enabling professionals to find the best solutions for their local area. The act provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies with flexible tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to antisocial behaviour. These include: - civil injunctions.
- criminal behaviour orders.
- public spaces protection orders.
- community protection notices.
- dispersal powers.
- closure powers.
The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and antisocial behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account. If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.kent.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
